Brief

You have been appointed as the IT consultant to the Cool-Ways travel agents, a company that specialises in organising unusual holidays to the more exotic parts of the world. Your task is to analyse, design, develop and implement new IT systems for the company.

You will need to look carefully at the company's needs (see the Major task context) and to decide what software and hardware you will need to develop the new system. You will also need to decide whether the company needs any extra staff to run the new system and whether these staff will require training.

In order to complete the tasks you will have to carry out systems analysis.

A systems analyst:

• Analyses the requirements of the management and users within the company
• Designs and develops the new system
• Implements and tests the system
• Provides documentation for the system
• Evaluates the system

You will have to do this to complete part of your GCSE coursework portfolio.
